Special guest spotlight:

Dr. Valencia Walker is a practicing Neonatologist and has served as an Associate Clinical Professor, and an Assistant Dean of Equity and Diversity Inclusion for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Walker graduated from Florida A&M University and received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She finished a Pediatrics residency at UT Memphis and a fellowship in Neonatology from the prestigious Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Since joining UCLA’s faculty, she has also obtained an MPH in Health Policy from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Throughout her career, Dr. Walker has distinguished herself as an outstanding clinician educator and garnered a national reputation for her involvement in diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within academic medicine.

A native of Compton CA, Ms. Malika Whitlock earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from University of CA Santa Cruz.
Settling down at an early age and having her first born during her senior year, she attended respiratory school, considering the longevity and impact of the field.
She has been a Respiratory Therapist for over 20 years with an established career at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center.
