Special guest spotlight:

Dr. Melissa Bazanos Hutton currently serves as the Executive Director of the Assessment, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement (AACI) Unit at the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE). The AACI unit provides data, assessment, accountability, and technical
assistance services to support districts with improving student access and outcomes through data analysis, program evaluation, and comprehensive planning with the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Prior to her role as Executive Director, she served as a Director of Instructional Services and Administrator of School Improvement at RCOE which was preceded by being a Principal, Assistant Principal, and elementary teacher with over 22 years in the field of public education. Melissa also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Redlands teaching courses in curriculum development and program evaluation. Dr. Bazanos Hutton earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of CA, Riverside, her Master’s Degree from California State University, San Bernardino, and her Doctoral Degree from Brandman University.

Dr. Marion Gutterud began her career in education as a classified employee. She went back to school and became a teacher at the age of 33.
She soon completed her reading certificate, PPS, Masters and Doctoral degree, having taught for 15 years, and serving as an Assistant Principal for 3 years.
She is currently a principal in Jurupa Unified School District and is married to Rod with who she has three daughters, two grandsons, one granddaughter.

Dr. Mallanie Harris began her journey in education nearly 23 years ago as a middle school teacher and now serves as a middle school principal.
She is quite the chameleon and often is described as too busy balancing her career, financial services business, involvement in her sorority and women’s group.
She notes that “her passions are her faith, family and friends…ok, and fashion, but people who really know her knows she truly wants to see everyone she comes into contact with to win.”

Dr. Marilyn Saucedo is a leadership-oriented professional educator with over 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher, as well as over 16 years as a school site and district administrator. Recognized as a strong coach and trainer who can develop strategic, innovative and caring leaders, practitioners, and scholars, she has demonstrated ability to work with a variety of partners and stakeholders. Dr. Saucedo is a member of the Elevated Achievement Group team as an instructional coach. She provides support to teachers in their work of developing student ownership in their own learning.
