Dr. Venkatachalam Seshan taught at Pepperdine University for 31 years after a career in industry where he did strategic planning and scenario development for Fortune 100 Companies such as IBM, Dupont, Olin and Atlantic Richfield Corporation.
At Pepperdine he taught the final senior capstone course where he was chosen by the students as the first winner of the Harriet and Charles Luckman Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award. He pioneered a practical capstone strategy team for research in business management & ethics, where students actively demonstrated how to do research; how to work in a team and how to present to the Board of Directors.
Dr. Seshan has taught 19,000 students at instuions including USC and Thunderbird Graduate School in International Management.
He is also an active member of the Irvine Rotary Club where he serves as the Director of Vocational Service.”
Dr. Sheila Lakshmi Steinberg is Full Professor of GIS, Social and Environmental Sciences at Brandman University, Chapman University System where she also serves as the Faculty President.
Dr. Steinberg leads the university’s effort to incorporate GIS across the curriculum.
In addition to being President of Irvine Rotary Club, she has co-authored books including, “Extreme Weather Health and Communities: Interdisciplinary Engagement Strategies” (2017), “GIS Research Methods: Incorporating Spatial Perspectives” (2015), “Community Activism” and “Small Business Ownership” and for the Undocumented Immigrants in the United States Today: An Encyclopedia of their Experiences (Ed.) Anna Ochoa O’Leary, (2014).”
